Healthy Tortilla Hacks

Love tortillas but watching your total carb intake? But, can’t stand the taste of “whole wheat” tortillas?

Well, I’ve got a new brand that I absolutely love: Egglife! These are tortilla wraps that are made with egg whites, so they’re higher in protein and lower in carbs. They provided me free product to be able to craft some fun recipes.

1. Caprese Salad Wrap

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes

  • Mozzarella cheese

  • Balsamic vinegar

  • Herbs, to taste

  • Egglife tortilla wraps, any flavor!



Directions

  1. Slice mozzarella and tomatoes. Arrange on Egglife egg white wrap.

  2. Drizzle balsamic vinegar. Enjoy!



2. Everything Bagel Wrap

Ingredients

  • Medium avocado

  • 2 eggs

  • Coconut oil or olive oil

  • Egglife wrap

  • Everything bagel spice



Directions

  1. Fry eggs in a pan with coconut oil or olive oil. Sprinkle everything bagel spice on top.

  2. Slice avocado and sprinkle everything bagel spice on top here, as well.

  3. Add eggs and avocado to egglife wrap. Enjoy!


3. Low-Carb Tacos

Ingredients

  • Seasoning of choice

  • Oregano

  • Chicken breast, cubes or strips

  • Olive or coconut oil

  • Pepper, sliced

  • Onion, sliced

  • Optional toppings: guac, sour cream, tomatoes, cilantro


Directions

  1. Toss chicken with seasoning and oregano in a bowl and set aside.

  2. Heat oil in skillet on medium high heat. Add pepper and onion, cook until softened. Remove.

  3. Add chicken to skillet, cook until browned on each side, return veggies to skillet.

  4. Spoon mixture onto egglife tortillas! Top with sour cream, cheese, diced tomatoes, guac, and cilantro as desired!
